Shush and Pop – Lydia’s Limited Edition Linocut Print –Kids Art Print
Another limited-edition linoleum print based on my7-year-old daughter’s artwork. When I create my own art, I strive for colorharmony—avoiding excessive complementary colors, steering clear of overlysaturated hues, and limiting the palette. Lydia, however, approaches art withunrestrained freedom. She simply poured bright pinks, greens, blues, golds, andsilvers onto the paper—all at once! The result is surprisingly stunning:vibrant colors coexisting in perfect balance. The perspective and color harmonyremind me of David Hockney’s works.
This print is composed of seven colored layers, created usingsix hand-carved plates.
About this series: My daughter Lydia loves to draw and paint. Her art emanates from a place I, asboth a parent and an artist, could never reach myself. It’s carefree, filledwith unfiltered joy, and full of surprises. I know she won’t always create likethis, and that’s part of why I began this project—to share her work while itstill captures this fleeting magic.
We didn’t want to part with her original drawings, so Iturned to printmaking—a medium I love—to carefully translate them into limitededition prints. In this series, 100% of the design comes from Lydia. There’s noadult edit, no reinterpretation—I simply served as the printmaker.
