Privacy Policy

Who we are
Upper East Fine Arts operates uppereastfinearts.com to share, research and offer works of art for sale, and to respond to enquiries. For privacy questions or requests, email info@uppereastfinearts.com.
Enquiries and information you provide
If you enquire about an artwork, we receive your name, email address, artwork reference and message. If you email photographs or supporting information, we receive those materials too. We use this information to respond and keep track of the discussion. An enquiry does not place an order, reserve an artwork or subscribe you to marketing. Please do not send payment-card details or sensitive personal information through the form.
The enquiry form uses Jetpack Forms and Akismet spam protection. Responses are stored in the website database and sent to our email address. Akismet processes submitted information and technical details, such as IP address and browser user agent, to assess spam. See Automattic’s visitor privacy notice.
Orders and payments
When you place an order, we use the information you provide, including your name, contact details, billing and delivery addresses, and the artworks ordered, to process payment, arrange delivery, answer questions and maintain transaction records. WooCommerce stores order details and payment status on this website. Payment information needed to process or support a transaction is handled by WooPayments and its payment-processing providers. If you choose an available digital wallet, express checkout or pay-later option, the relevant provider also processes the information needed for that service under its own privacy notice. Available options can include WooPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Affirm, Cash App Afterpay and Klarna, depending on your device, location and order. WooPay can let you save and reuse payment and delivery details across participating stores; using it is optional. See Automattic’s visitor privacy notice and Stripe’s privacy policy. Relevant delivery details are used to fulfill your order.
Transaction records are retained for accounting, legal obligations, disputes and necessary artwork records; the 12-month closed-enquiry rule does not apply to these records. Private buyer information is not included in public artwork or sold-work displays.
Checkout security
Payment providers use security and fraud-prevention measures when processing transactions. Optional analytics and visit-source reporting remain subject to your cookie choices.
Hosting and technical information
WordPress.com hosts this website. Hosting, security and email services process technical information needed to deliver and protect their services, such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and timestamps. Images may be delivered by WordPress.com or eBay image hosting; loading an image connects your browser to that provider. We do not publish private enquiry information as part of the artwork catalogue.
Cookie choices and optional reporting
CookieYes provides the website’s cookie controls. Necessary cookies remember your choices and support your shopping basket, checkout session and transaction security. WooCommerce uses cart/session cookies. Optional Analytics and Visit-source reporting are off by default. Use Accept optional, Reject optional or Settings to choose. Reopen Cookie choices to change or withdraw permission. Withdrawing permission does not delete information already received by a provider.
If you allow Analytics, Jetpack Stats helps us understand website use. Automattic can process IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, referring pages, visit time and approximate location. Signed-in WordPress.com visitors can also be associated with their account identifiers. We receive site-use reports. See Jetpack Stats privacy information.
If you allow Visit-source reporting, WooCommerce records referral or campaign information, entry pages and browser details in session cookies. When an order is placed, permitted referral information may be saved with it. See WooCommerce’s order-attribution information. Browser settings can also restrict or remove cookies, although restricting essential cookies may affect site functions.
Newsletter subscriptions
Newsletter subscription is a separate choice. WordPress.com processes the email address supplied and sends our posts. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter. The service can report email opens and link clicks, including activity for individual subscribers. Website cookie choices do not control tracking inside newsletter emails. Replies are directed privately to the post author. See WordPress.com’s subscriber statistics information.
How long information is kept
We keep personal information for the purpose it was collected, ongoing correspondence, and applicable record-keeping or legal needs. Ordinary closed enquiries and email copies are reviewed quarterly; our policy is to remove them after 12 months without a substantive exchange, unless an ongoing enquiry, transaction, dispute, legal obligation or necessary artwork record justifies retaining relevant information. We review spam weekly so legitimate enquiries can be recovered. These are manual reviews, not automatic deletion.
Artworks’ identity, provenance, condition and sale history are handled separately from routine correspondence. We preserve necessary artwork information without making private customer details public. The ordinary-enquiry rule does not govern existing invoices, transaction records or disputed matters.
Newsletter details are retained while the subscription is active. After unsubscribe, information may remain as needed to respect the opt-out or meet applicable obligations. Backups and service logs follow their providers’ arrangements; deleting a form response or email does not immediately remove every backup or provider copy. For details of provider handling, see Automattic’s visitor privacy notice.
Your choices and requests
Email info@uppereastfinearts.com to ask about your information or request access, correction or deletion. We may need to verify your identity. Some information may need to be retained for legal obligations or unresolved matters. Depending on the law that applies to you, additional rights may be available. You can choose not to submit personal information, although that may prevent us from answering an enquiry.
Other services and changes
External services have their own privacy policies. Providers may process information in countries other than your own; their notices describe their processing and safeguards. We may update this notice when the site’s services change. The published notice will show its effective or last-updated date.
