A lithograph on BFK Rives paper by New York socialrealist artist Raphael Soyer (1899-1987), titled Studies with Self -Portrait and dated 1966. The composition includes multiple figure andportrait studies, including a self-portrait and female nude studies. Soyer wasa Russian-born American painter, draftsman, and printmaker associated withrealist figure subjects and New York art circles. A first-state impression ofthis work is held by the Whitney Museum of American Art.
The sheet is signed in pencil by Raphael Soyer at lowerright, numbered 43/50 at lower left, and inscribed “2nd” for second state. TheBFK RIVES watermark is visible in the paper, and an IH blind stamp appears nearthe lower margin.
The print is in good condition. The sheet shows minorhandling marks consistent with age. The verso is blank. Unframed. Please referto the pictures for condition.
