This is an original mid-20th-century watercolor on paperpainting by Charlotte Hoffman, a regional artist who lived and worked in NewRochelle, New York during the 1950s–1960s. This work comes from a foldercontaining a collection of her paintings from that period. Although littlebiographical information is available about Hoffman today, many of the works inthe group bear original gallery price tags and matting, suggesting she activelyexhibited and sold in local New York galleries.
This painting is in good condition. The edges and cornershave minor wear and handling marks. The paper has minor toning consistent withage. The back of the page has another cityscape painting.
