Description

An early landscape lithograph depicting a panoramic view of Stuttgart from the morning side. The scene captures the city nestled among surrounding hills, with architectural landmarks visible in the valley below. The work was lithographed by Adam Gatternicht (1819–1899, Stuttgart), printed by Olswald, and published by Verlag der Ebner’schen Kunst- und Musikalien-Handlung, an important 19th-century Stuttgart publisher known for scenic and architectural views of southern Germany. The present impression is in poor condition, though the image remains strong and well-inked. The sheet retains full margins with the image area intact. The edges show wear and several tears, and the paper is moderately toned with scattered foxing. ________________________________________ Print Details • Medium: Lithograph on wove paper • Image Size: 11.5 × 8.25 in • Sheet Size: 21.25 × 14.25 in • Condition: Poor – strong impression; full margins; image area intact; edge wear and tears; paper toning and foxing; unframed ________________________________________ Inscriptions • Bottom center: Stuttgart / von der Morgenseite / Verlag der Ebner’schen Kunst- und Musikalien-Handlung • Blind stamp: EBNER • Lower left: Lith. v.
